Can someone please remind me what caused the "blowtorch" effect on the oven door, burning a whole right thru the inside door panel? It's been discussed on this board, but I couldn't find the posts based on the subject line (the downside, I suppose, to writing things in posts that don't match the subject line.)
The one I've actually seen with my very own eyes was a Model C and it did not have that little baffle thing that covers the hole when the door is shut, which I would suspect helps alot. Is this the only difference, or was there some malfunction causing the flames to blow thru?
My old Model B did not have a hole in the door when I got it (about the only flaw it DIDN'T have, I might add!), but then again, it has that baffle-thing on the oven door (sorry, Stoveman, I know the terminology we use drives you nuts.) :-)
Thanks in advance,
t.

Hi Folks, Fifty+ years of high usage caused the blown out hole in the oven door. The "B" and "C" models ALL had the "Light Here" THINGIE in the begining. Oven heat and moisture caused it to rust out and fall off. ( I had an off color thought here, but I won't say it!)
The cheap fix is to cut out a 3 by 5 inch Stainless steel sheet (get at Lowes or Home Depot) and screw it over the Blown out hole. It doesnt look too bad for a quick fix.
